In the stilted performance of tonight’s presidential debate I thought both men looked uncomfortable, bobbing up and down out of their seats and nervously wandering the stage in unconvincing attempts to dominate. However Obama did seem to have raised his game and, for me, came out ahead. The third debate, which I believe will at long last include foreign policy, could be interesting.

I love political cartoons. They’re funny, sly and subversive. They question authority, draw attention to corruption and highlight social ills. A good cartoon cuts through all of the bullshit straight to the heart of an issue. The right image can be be more effective than the longest, wordiest rant. Its therefore a form that's ideally suited to our attention deficit age. They're irreverent and poke fun at our rulers, of course, but our political system is pretty much surreal comedy anyway. I don't own these images but I enjoy them. I hope you do too.
