An ..’it’s not a cartoon’ .. Post

Yes ! A very rare non-cartoon post to say a couple of things.

First just a quick hello to anyone who has decided to ‘follow’ recently. Hi .. hope you’re good :)  It seems there are more cartoon fans than I might have imagined, which is excellent. I’m always a bit hesitant about using Tumblr’s word ‘followers’ because I can’t say it without getting mental images of mad cult leaders in kaftans (yes .. well ..) but, that being said,  if you’re going to keep me company in smiling at the surreal comedy of political life then I’m glad. It’d be no fun at all on my own.

Second about what I’m likely to post, just to save anyone from being disappointed. I don’t consciously try to be ‘balanced’ about politics here and I’m usually not. I’m not a supporter of any of the established political parties, or for that matter any ‘political philosophy’ in its entirety, and generally I think our political process is deeply flawed, corrupt, and dysfunctional. Like many, I will sometimes grudgingly accept the lesser of two evils because it’s all that’s available, while understanding that the lesser of two evils is still evil.

I do, however, pretty obviously have strongly liberal, humanitarian, and left-leaning instincts and that usually informs what I post in one way or another. If that’s likely to irk or upset anyone consistently then at least you can’t say I didn’t warn you :)

Okay, that’s it  .. no more wordiness. Send in the clowns ..
